News: Water main breaks, floods parts of downtown with freezing water

AUSTIN, TX – A downtown water main burst earlier this morning, flooding seven blocks of Lavaca Street a sheet of water that soon froze and cracked the asphalt.

KXAN reports that the incident is affecting Lavaca Street between 8th and 15th Streets. The freezing conditions and damage to the road surface are likely to impede any emergency service to the area.
