News update: Woman dies in hospital after Aug. 24 pedestrian crash on Pearce Ln
AUSTIN, TX – The woman who was struck by a vehicle on Pearce Lane on August 24 died in the hospital last week, according to the Austin Police Department.
This is an update to a previous news story.
The crash happened near the intersection of Las Alas Trail and Pearce Lane at 6:30 a.m., as 67-year-old Mary Arencibia was crossing the street. She was then struck by the driver of a 2014 Hyundai Accent.
Arencibia was taken to St. David’s South Hospital, where on September 8, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The accident, which is the 79th fatal crash of the year in Austin, remains under investigation at this time.
