Coker had been attending Columbia University and playing for its football team, but had returned home due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Friends and former teachers remembered Coker as an excellent student and an integral member of a Westlake team that won the 2019 state championship. A memorial to the former wide receiver has been erected at the school’s football field.
