News update: Victim ID’d in Saturday’s fatal pedestrian crash on I-35

AUSTIN, TX – The Austin Police Department has identified the victim of a deadly pedestrian crash that happened on I-35 early Saturday morning.

This report is an update to a previous news story.

The crash, which happened in the 6100 block of S I-35 southbound at 4:48 a.m., claimed the life of 36-year-old Marcus L. Sierra. The accident occurred when the driver of a southbound Ford Escape crashed into Sierra near the roadway.

Sierra was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:05 a.m.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident, which is the 104th fatal crash of the year.
