News Update: Police search for driver responsible for fatal pedestrian crash

AUSTIN, TX – Police are on the hunt for the driver of the car that struck and killed a woman at a north Austin intersection last night, KXAN reports.

Earlier reports were unclear about the circumstances of the collision. However, we now know that the victim was a woman in her 50s, and that the motorist who struck her drove away from the scene.

Police have since discovered the vehicle they believe was involved in the incident, but not the driver.

The collision happened at about 9:40 p.m. yesterday at the intersection of E St. Johns Avenue and Cameron Road. The victim was apparently lying in the roadway at the time, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
