News Update: Police ID victim of fatal S Austin pedestrian accident
AUSTIN, TX – Police have released the identity of the man killed in a pedestrian accident in south Austin earlier this month, the Austin American-Statesman reports.
The fatal collision took place at about 6:30 p.m. on February 7. Steven James Ingram, 65, was attempting to cross the intersection of West Ben White Boulevard and Menchaca Road when he was struck by a black Lexus. A witness said the Lexus had the green light at the time. However, this does not appear to have been independently confirmed.
Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but pronounced Ingram dead at 7:09 p.m.
The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and has cooperated with police, who do not expect to file charges.
