News Update: Police ID victim of fatal motorcycle accident in SE Austin
AUSTIN, TX – Police have identified the motorcyclist who died after striking a power pole in southeast Austin earlier this month, KXAN reports.
This is an update to an earlier story.
According to police, the incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. on February 9. 22-year-old Jose Luis Hernandez lost control of his 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle while heading west in the 4400 block of E. William Cannon Drive and collided with a power pole. EMS rushed him to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where he died at 11:37 p.m. that same day.
Hernandez is the 17th person to die on Austin roads in 2021.
