DEL VALLE, TX – Authorities have released the identity of the man killed in a crash near the Circuit of the Americas in Del Valle last weekend.

This is an update to a previous news story.

According to the Austin Police Department, the crash claimed the life of 55-year-old Kevin Nelson.

The collision happened in the 9500 block of Circuit of the Americas Boulevard at 5:13 a.m. August 14, when the driver of a 2020 Dodge Ram pickup truck went between two metal arms of a gate blocking the entrance to the COTA.
