News Update: Fatal crash on I-35 near 183 led to additional collisions
AUSTIN, TX – The fatal collision that took place on I-35 near US 183 early Saturday morning led to additional crashes as emergency responders worked the scene, KXAN reports.
The initial crash occurred on northbound I-35, just south of its intersection with US 183, at about 2:30 a.m. on January 30. Authorities arrived on the scene to find a woman who had been thrown from her vehicle and was lying on the roadway. They pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police now say that a second crash occurred as they were responding to the accident. A semi truck hit a Ford Mustang on the interstate on-ramp, and investigations are underway. KXAN’s reporting does not make clear whether anyone was injured in this second crash.
