This story is an update to a previous report.
According to the Austin Police Department, the crash claimed the life of 28-year-old Kevin O’Neal.
At about 11:57 p.m. in the 2700 block of N Lamar Blvd, O’Neal collided with a curb and lost control of his Triumph motorcycle, then crashed.

The crash, which is Austin’s 68th fatal collision of the year, remains under investigation at this time.
Motorcyclists often face more severe injury after a collision, due to the fact that they have less protection against a reckless driver than a person in a larger passenger vehicle.
