News: Travis Co. deputy hurt in semi crash in Del Valle

DEL VALLE, TX – A Travis County deputy was hospitalized after a crash involving three 18-wheelers Tuesday.

The collision occurred around 9 a.m. on State Highway 130 near Pearce Lane, CBS Austin reported.

The 18-wheelers involved overturned.

The deputy pulled over his vehicle and got out to help one of the truck drivers. While he helped that driver, another truck slid on the icy road, and that 18-wheeler collided with the deputy. As a result, the deputy was pinned and extricated by first responders.

The deputy sustained unspecified, non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear if the other drivers were hurt.
