News: Tesla catches on fire after crashing into pole in West Austin
AUSTIN, TX- A juvenile driving a Tesla has been charged after he crashed into a pole and the vehicle caught on fire early Thursday, according to ABC 13.
At approximately 1:30am, the young driver slammed into a traffic pole, causing his vehicle to entirely catch on fire. Because Teslas are electric vehicles, the Austin Fire Department had to use over 40 times the normal amount of water they would have had to use normally.
The driver was able to extricate himself from the vehicle, but was charged with driving under the influence.
No injuries have been reported at this time. We will be monitoring for future updates.
