News: Police ID woman killed in January crash on I-35
AUSTIN, TX – Police have identified the woman killed in a January 30 crash on I-35 as 26-year-old Denyse Jaimes-Olmos, KXAN reports.
Police received reports of a collision in the 7400 block of N. I-35 at about 2:25 a.m. that morning, and arrived at the scene to find Jaimes-Olmos lying in the roadway.
They determined that she had been traveling north when her 2011 GMC Terrain collided with a barrier on the righthand side of the roadway. The initial collision sent the Terrain skidding across all lanes of traffic before coming to a stop in the far left lane. A second vehicle struck it from behind, causing Jaimes-Olmos to be ejected onto the roadway, where she was hit by a third vehicle.
She died at the scene.
Emergency responders took the driver of the second vehicle to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
