News: Police ID victim of bike accident on Slaughter Ln
AUSTIN, TX – Police have released the identity of a bicyclist killed in a collision on Slaughter Lane earlier this month, KXAN reports.
Samuel Stephens, 58, was stopped on the south curb line of W. Slaughter Lane near Brodie Lane at 5:11 p.m. on February 3, when a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze collided with his bicycle. EMS rushed Stephens to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, where he died three days later.
The Cruze’s driver remained on the scene and has cooperated with police investigations. While charges are not expected, those investigations are ongoing.
