News: Person hospitalized following hit-and-run crash on William Cannon Dr

AUSTIN, TX – One person was hospitalized following a hit-and-run accident on William Cannon Drive in South Austin this afternoon, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash occurred at 744 W William Cannon Dr, near S 1st Street, at 3:30 p.m., when two vehicles collided. The occupants of one of those vehicles then fled the scene.

One person was entrapped within the wreckage for a short time. By 3:46 p.m., they had been rescued from the crash.

The victim was declared a trauma alert, and then was taken to Dell Seton to receive treatment for possibly serious wounds.

Drivers were told to expect traffic delays near the scene and were asked to avoid the area.
