News: Person hospitalized following 18-vehicle pileup on I-35
AUSTIN, TX – An 18-vehicle pileup on I-35 led to one person being taken to the hospital early Sunday morning, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
Multiple #ATCEMS, @AustinFireInfo & @Austin_Police on-scene of a Multi-vehicle collision at ~4500 N IH 35 NB (Upper Deck); #ATCEMS Incident Command advising 18 vehicles involving 32 people. 1 adult patient will be transported from the scene w/non-life-threatening injures.— ATCEMS (@ATCEMS) May 30, 2021
The accident happened in the 4500 block of N I-35 northbound on the upper deck, and was reported at 3:10 a.m.
A total of 18 vehicles and 32 people were involved in the collision.
Luckily, only one of those had to be taken to the hospital with non-critical wounds.
The cause of the collision was not immediately available.
