AUSTIN, TX – One person was severely injured during a pedestrian crash on the I-35 service road late this evening, according to information from Austin-Travis County EMS.

The crash happened in the 5300 block of the southbound N I-35 service road at E 51st Street at 10:28 p.m., when a driver collided with an adult pedestrian.

One person was declared a trauma alert, then was taken to Dell Seton for the treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries.

Drivers were told to expect continued traffic delays near the scene and were asked to avoid the area.
