News: Pedestrian severely injured in hit-and-run crash on Hwy 290

AUSTIN, TX – A man was hospitalized after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Highway 290 in southwest Travis County this weekend, according to KXAN.

The crash happened at about 11 p.m. Sunday in the 9200 block of W U.S. 290, near Ledgestone Terrace, when the driver of a black 2010-2011 Honda Civic went onto the shoulder of the roadway. There, he crashed into a pedestrian in his 20s, then fled the scene.

The pedestrian sustained severe injuries in the crash.

Authorities are searching for the suspect and vehicle, which will have damage to the front mirror and right side mirror, as well as a missing right turn signal light.
