News: One victim ID’d in Feb. 19’s fatal truck crash in south Austin
AUSTIN, TX – Authorities have released the identity of one of the victims of last Friday’s fatal pickup vs. 18-wheeler accident in south Austin.
This is an update to a previous story.
According to the Austin Police Department, an unidentified woman and 25-year-old Damian Allen Michael Garza died on February 19 between the 6800 and 7500 blocks of I-35, when a black 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck collided with the back of a white 2000 Freightliner truck at a high rate of speed.
Garza and the woman, both occupants of the Ford, died at the scene.
The truck driver was not pronounced as injured.
The investigation continues into this collision, which is the 18th fatal crash of 2021 for the city of Austin.
