News: Motorcyclist dies after striking power pole in SE Austin
AUSTIN, TX – A motorcyclist was killed last night when he collided with a power pole on the city’s southeast side, KXAN reports.
The incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. on February 9, on westbound William Cannon Drive near Rockridge Drive. Witnesses say the motorcyclist was accelerating out of an intersection when he lost control of his bike and collided with the pole.
Emergency responders transported the man to an area hospital, where he died. No identifying information has been released at this time.
It took police roughly three hours to clear the roadway and reopen William Cannon.
