News: Elderly woman suffers critical injuries after south Austin house fire
AUSTIN, TX – One person was taken to the hospital with critical injuries following a house fire in south Austin this weekend, according to ABC 7 Amarillo.
The fire occurred on Richmond Avenue at about 10 p.m. Saturday.
A male neighbor witnessed the fire from his home and heard the elderly female victim screaming for assistance from inside. He then helped pull her from the burning structure.
The victim was then taken to the hospital with critical, potentially life-threatening wounds.
A spokesperson from the Austin Fire Department stated that they had “no doubt he saved her life.”
The fire remains under investigation at this time.
