News: Driver hospitalized after suffering medical emergency, crashing into fence

AUSTIN, TX – One person was taken to the hospital after colliding with a fence on the I-35 service road this evening, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

The collision occurred at 8:04 p.m. near the 9600 block of the N I-35 service road, in a parking lot off the main roadway, and may have occurred because of a driver suffering a medical emergency.

The adult victim was unconscious when first responders arrived at the scene. They were taken to North Austin Medical Center with non-traumatic injuries that were not expected to threaten their life.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
