News: Crash leads to closures on westbound SH-71 near Thomas Springs Rd

AUSTIN, TX – A crash on State Highway 71 led to traffic delays and road closures this evening near the Barton Creek Habitat Preserve in West Oak Hill, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Austin.

The crash happened on westbound SH-71 near Thomas Springs Road at about 6:45 p.m.

Authorities closed down all westbound lanes and one eastbound lane of SH-71 as they worked the collision. Drivers were told to use alternate travel routes and to expect delays near the scene.

By 8:26 p.m., the roadway was reopened.

It is unclear at this point what caused the crash or if anyone was injured.
