News: Corvette driver killed after vehicle collides with rideshare
AUSTIN, TX – KXAN has released details about a fatal collision that took place near North Lamar Boulevard earlier this month.
According to Austin police, the fatal accident happened shortly before 3 a.m. on February 7. A red 2020 Chevrolet Corvette was speeding south in the 3000 block of N Lamar when it sideswiped a 2018 Ford Explorer in service as a rideshare vehicle. The Corvette spun into a pair of telephone poles and an unoccupied Toyota Tundra parked in the area, coming to a rest in the 2900 block of San Gabriel Street.
Austin-Travis County EMS rushed the Corvette’s driver to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he died shortly before 7 a.m. His identity has not been released.
No other injuries were reported.
