News: ATCEMS calls drop significantly at close of week

AUSTIN, TX – Austin-Travis County EMS reported a significant decrease in service calls on Friday, a reduction of about 28% relative to the previous day.

ATCEMS saw a particular reduction in the number of weather-related calls, including three for environmental exposure (down from eight on Thursday), 21 for falls (down from 122), and one for carbon monoxide poisoning (down from 10).

These trends are likely to continue as critical infrastructure comes back online following one of the most disastrous weeks in Austin history.
