News: APD responds to rush-hour crashes across Austin

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police responded to at least four urgent collisions over the course of about an hour Friday morning, according to the city’s incident tracker.

The string of incidents began at about 8:15 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021. Collisions were continuing to be reported more than an hour later.

Crashes have been confirmed at the intersections of Olson Drive and Burmaster Lane, and at River Place Boulevard and FM 620. They also occurred at the S I-35 northbound to Woodland ramp, and the Broadmeade to N 34 W eastbound ramp.

The City of Austin defines an “urgent crash” as one with reported minor injuries or possible minor injuries, one that occurred on a high-speed roadway but is not blocking traffic, or one that occurred on a secondary roadway that is affecting traffic.
