News: 6 injured after teen driver causes multi-vehicle crash on Hwy 290

AUSTIN, TX – Six people were reported injured following a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 290 on Sunday night that was reportedly caused by inattentive driving.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the accident happened on US-290, near I-35 at 7:08 p.m., when the 19-year-old driver of a white 2009 Ford reportedly failed to keep her attention on the road.

The front of her vehicle collided with the back of a white 2013 Honda, which then collided with the rear of a white 2010 Toyota being driven by an 82-year-old man.

The driver of the Ford, the driver of the Toyota, and the driver of the Honda, a 22-year-old man, were all reported as possibly injured in the crash.

Additionally, two female passengers and a male passenger in the Toyota were also reported as possibly injured.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
