News: 4-year-old and 2 men injured after driver runs red light in E Austin

AUSTIN, TX – Three people, including a 4-year-old child, were injured in a crash after a driver ran a traffic light at an intersection in east Austin on Saturday morning, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The crash occurred at the intersection of FM 969 Road (Webberville Road) and FM 973 Road at 7:18 a.m., when the 48-year-old driver of a silver 2007 Toyota failed to maintain his attention on the roadway and ran a traffic light.

The front-left end of the Toyota then collided with the front end of a black 2018 Ford being driven by a 44-year-old woman.

A 4-year-old girl in the Ford, the driver of the Toyota, and his 32-year-old passenger all suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The driver of the Ford and her 14-year-old passenger were not hurt.
