News: 4 people hospitalized, 32 displaced after early-morning apt. fire

AUSTIN, TX – Four people were hospitalized and over thirty were displaced following an early-morning apartment fire on Northgate Boulevard today, according to CBS Austin.

The fire occurred at around 4 a.m. at the Ventura Apartments complex, located at 9133 Northgate Blvd, near Highway 183 and W Rundberg Lane.

One person was taken to Dell Seton to receive treatment for critical, life-threatening injuries.

A second victim was transported to the same hospital with severe wounds.

Two more victims were taken to St. David’s Hospital with non-critical injuries.

Four other people refused treatment at the scene.

A total of 40 apartments were destroyed in the blaze, resulting in 32 people being displaced. They are being assisted by the Austin Police Department and the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
