News: 29-year-old dies Saturday after crashing into pillar on Research Blvd
AUSTIN, TX – A woman died Saturday of injuries she sustained after crashing into a pillar on Research Boulevard on Friday night, according to the Austin Police Department.
This is an update to a previous news story.
The crash happened in the 8900 block of Research Boulevard, near Metric Boulevard, at about 7:45 p.m., when 29-year-old Vivian Love Garcia, driving a red 2005 Ford Mustang, went off the side of the road. Garcia then crashed into a concrete pillar.
She was unconscious when emergency personnel arrived, and they were able to regain a pulse on her. She was taken to Dell Seton, where on Saturday, she succumbed to her injuries.
This is Austin’s 36th fatal crash of the year.
The accident remains under investigation.
