News: 2 women injured in distracted-driving crash on Burleson Rd

AUSTIN, TX – Two people were hurt in an inattentive-driving crash in southeast Austin on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The collision happened at 6806 Burleson Road, near Smith School Road, at 12:58 p.m., as the 55-year-old driver of a black 2012 Ford failed to pay proper attention to the roadway.

The front-right end of her vehicle collided with the front-left end of a maroon 2007 GMC being driven by a 51-year-old man from Illinois.

One of his passengers, a 54-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries in the crash. His other passenger, a 57-year-old woman, was possibly injured as well.

The drivers were not reported as hurt.
