News: 19-year-old man killed after crashing into pole in New Braunfels
NEW BRAUNFELS, TX – A 19-year-old man was killed after he collided with a utility pole early Monday morning in New Braunfels, according to KXAN.
The accident happened on the southbound I-35 frontage road when a 19-year-old man from Fort Hood lost control of his vehicle while reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed in a construction area.
He collided with multiple barriers, then collided with a utility pole. The impact sent his vehicle rolling into a nearby field.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, died at the scene.
While authorities were called to the scene at about 7:20 a.m., they believed that the crash occurred hours earlier.
Authorities closed the southbound frontage road for about three hours as they worked the collision.
